2011 Rookie Company Nominations
Century Building Restoration, Hollywood, FL
Century Building Restoration has grown steady for the last 4 years, but the biggest impact was after the Business Planning Boot camp last year with CCN where we brought one person from sales, one from production, one from accounting and me and we were able to make a clear strategy going forward.
Besides the strategy plan, we define our Vision, Mission and Core Values turn it into a 24”x36” frame poster that everyone can understand who we are and where we are going.
It changed our business from dealing with daily situations to a MAP of actions and results. Also I can see people more engaged and having a bigger sense of ownership of the company.
Century Building Restoration USA, Inc Has definitely survive, for its size in times of economics drops, but not only surviving in the construction game, but growing and opening more job opportunities, fighting the unemployment line.
Designer Exteriors Inc., Winona, MN
Designer Exteriors Inc. has come a long way since joining CCN. CCN has given us the knowledge and materials needed to help become successful and continue to grow to be the best in our industry. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction. DEI has had great sales growth due to the implementation of the CCN based business plan and the trainings provided by CCN. DEI has changed a lot of ways of doing business and continues to grow and increase our customer base and our level of customer satisfaction. I believe that DEI is the most professional and productive contractor in our community. DEI does the job right or not at all.
Designer Exteriors was invited by Jay Butch of Certainteed to attend the fall conference of 2010. We went in not fully knowing what to expect, but we knew we help in order to survive. Every member and CCN employee was beyond helpful and still continues to be. That support is what Designer Exteriors needed in order to become what it has today. After returning home to Minnesota, Tobi instantly joined CCN and started implementing and adopting the CCN standards. He cleaned house of all but one employee. He started the process of building a new team from the ground up. Designer Exteriors and its new team have worked tirelessly at building the best business in its area. It has gone completely unnoticed in the community. Advertisers, distributors, competition, and customers continue to remark on the professionalism of the business. To many in the local industry Designer Exteriors has been the go to on many tough issues and questions. Thanks CCN and all members. You have been inspirational!!
Designer Exteriors has taken all that CCN has to offer. CCN has given DEI the ability to plan yearly at the annual Business Planning Boot Camp they attend every year. As for the Sales Boot Camp that was attended this past July, it helped skyrocket sales and pushed DEI into the number ONE slot in the area verses all competitors. DEI continues to grow using the 4P and separate themselves from all competitors to the point that other companies don’t even deserve the title competitor.
Diamond Contracting, Olathe, KS
Wes and Cecelia from Diamond Contracting run a very special business in Olathe, Kansas. They have taken hold of all that CCN has to offer and run with it. They have a very good business model and are always looking to hone it. They have been to every conference since October, 2010 and are eager to ask questions so they can get better.
I am excited watching them grow their business and look forward to speaking with them a lot over the next number of years.
Woods Roofing, Inc., Canton, SD
Since becoming a member, we hired a foreman, a salesman and an admin person. We moved one of the guys from the crew and made him an assistant to help with all of the little things, and my wife has received a considerable amount of relief with all of the extra help.
We have used the CCN process to create the foreman and salesman responsibilities, along with implementing forms and contracts to use with the sub crews on every job.
We raised our prices and have had a comfortable back log for most of the year.
For years we struggled to pay the bills, and now all accounts are current, and we have a very comfortable amount of cash in the bank to run our company.
Things have changed – I used to do everything and do every job. Now, our company receives leads from people I do not know, our salesman sells jobs to people I have never met, our production produces the work and collects the checks, and our admin takes care of the rest. Our business is growing. Thank you. Jim Woods.
Woods Roofing: Jim Woods attended business planning boot camp in February and openly admitted that his company was in trouble and struggling. He left BPBC and immediately raised his prices significantly. Although he was fearful of doing so, he did and since then he has been able to hire a sales rep and office staff to allow him to spend more time working on his business. During the year, Woods Roofing has exceeded its sales and revenue goals, implemented many CCN best practices, improved its processes and been able to operate profitably.
