Jason is not only the boss; he is also the Sales Manager. But he is Sales Manager extraordinaire as well!! Similar to Chris, Jason wears many hats for the company. He works many, many hours and is ridiculous efficient and productive. Doesn’t matter what he does, he always produces results. He is like a robot, he says he going out to sell this many jobs, he comes back with that many jobs and in less time than he allowed himself! Among all the hours and work he puts into the company, he still makes time for staff and their problems. He listens and offers help! Nominated by My Lieu Ha

Kurt Fisher – Rain Gutter Specialties
Kurt has developed and put into place our lead tracking system as well as our sales logs. Before Kurt took this over all we did in sales meetings was talk about follow ups and if we did them. I tried several ways and they simply didn’t work. Once he took over not only did we have something that worked it was amazing. We now track every lead the way it should be tracked and every from coming in the office until it is sold. We now know what lead is working and what is not instantly. He also tracks each $ amount sold to each lead. This has helped me adapt our marketing to spend the money when and where we should in marketing. This year Kurt has implemented a bonus system for our salesman. This has worked great. It has helped our closing ratio grow even more (about 15%) as well as our average job increase by about 10%.
Kurt has developed our proposals and specific info sheets for each of our products. He has developed our deadly silent salesman”
I wouldn’t be the salesperson I am today without his leadership. Nominated by Tim Brown
Gabe Rios – Scudder Roofing
I have known and worked closely with Gabe Rios for 26 years and he is both my colleague and my friend. It is with great pride and admiration that I nominate Gabe for Sales Manager of the year. Gabe is simply a very hard worker and a trail blazer – a leader that people look to and he makes Scudder Roofing a better company on a daily basis. And he’s been this way, giving his true dedication to this company for every one of those 26 years. He is also one of the smartest people I have ever known and his experience in the roofing industry and his commitment to excellence is evident in every bit of work he does. In my opinion, there’s no one more deserving of this honor. Trustworthy, honest and self-motivated, witty and able to laugh at himself, he has a diverse background in all facets of roofing installation — from small repair projects to million dollar commercial jobs. He does hiring, training and motivating as well as conducting sales meetings and Gabe’s contributions help to shape the future of our company. He knows how important it is to be a team player because he is one himself. In fact, if he’s working through lunch and a delivery comes and no one is around, you’ll find Gabe on the forklift unloading the truck himself. He’s always volunteering to help other departments, willing to take the time to train and work with others, always there with a smile and a quick answer that illustrates the vast amount of roofing knowledge he has garnered over the years. There is no job he will run from and even if you don’t ask, he is usually the first one to volunteer.
Gabe believes the best way to learn is by doing and he is passionate about producing the very best job for all where both our customers and Scudder Roofing win. He meets all deadlines, he makes sure things are done right and puts in extra effort with everything he does. Gabe has been to the CCN sales boot camp and he wholeheartedly believes in the CCN 4p sales process and he and his team have mastered it down to the last detail including the weekly reporting, the measure call system, sales presentations and more, yet Gabe also brings his own distinctive style to the mix and always goes over and above for his team. He’s won office person of the year in 2010 and he monitors and reports on all aspects of sales and lead flow, leads to measure calls, measure calls to sales calls and sales call closing ratios. He also manages the CCN sales board at our company and he puts together the sales retreat goals each year. He has also developed a trend-weighted method that looks at each month based on certain trends i.e. if we are on target or off target he knows immediately. He works with our marketing manager to brainstorm for ideas and he completes reports for her to use in analyzing data for her department to more closely follow trends. Gabe is also a self-taught computer wizard that people come to for tech questions. He has mastered the Edge program and is currently training an assistant how to use it, how to develop estimates, proposals and contracts in order to put a job folder together.
Gabe makes my job easy and frankly, I could not do what I do without him. He is creative and very open about his opinion even if I don’t want to hear it. He often brings insight and clarity on how things should be instead of how they are. He sticks with the Scudder program to the letter and offers me direct feedback when I’m off track and he holds my feet to the fire when it comes to budgets. He has the uncanny ability to see through any muck and has the kind of straightforward approach that is invaluable to Scudder Roofing. If he doesn’t agree with me, he’s not shy about saying so, but he is also able to happily move forward if my decision sticks over his suggestions. Of course he’s usually right! Gabe is someone you can count on through thick, thin, strife and good times and he simply cares about the company and the people who work here. Gabe is a seasoned pro that is diligent, flexible and constantly searching for and achieving quality as well as innovative ways to approach and complete each job his team works on. He is always in pursuit of making Scudder Roofing the best and most competitive company it can be and I am honored to both know him and work with him. This nomination is something I take pleasure in sending to CCN and I don’t think there’s anyone more deserving of this accolade than Gabe Rios. Nominated by Pete Scudder

Our sales department has Tom to thank for the structure, procedure establishment and expectations of self and team mates that leaves one in awe! He is so well read and knowledgeable about how things and people work as he is constantly sharing bit and pieces of higher knowledge with the Opal Team! Tom helps me see how we fit into the scheme of remodeling projects and he gives us the confidence we need to go out and portray quality and high standard work! Tom has been to the CCN sales boot camp, Boot camp 102 and the 2011 Fall conference. He is ON BOARD with the CCN 4P sales process. Tom holds multi-weekly meetings where he pours over strategies new findings! Tom truly cares about the success of his sales team and of his company.
He does go the extra mile for his mates and is seemingly always available to all that need to reach out to him. Tom is the 1st to volunteer. Nominated by Tara Opalski
Tom is a great coach. Level headed and sincere, Tom can motivate you when you’re down. He can cheer you on when you’re winning. Tom has the CCN Sales manual MEMORIZED! Tom spouts word tracks like a preacher on Sunday. Tom has taken a sales force with one old member and 4 new guys, and DOMINATED all of Naperville, Illinois. Every competitor we have complains to our suppliers about how we’re stealing their jobs and must be underselling the jobs. Little do they know that with Tom’s help and coaching, we’re getting every penny we deserve for the jobs we sell. Our customers are well informed and make the right decision to use Opal!
