2010 Rookie Production Manager Nominations

Raul Diaz – Roofmax
Raul joined our company in February and had an immediate and dramatic impact on our production and bottom line. It’s as if he mended the sails, doubled–trained–managed the staff, organized the cargo, and set the ship straight on a shorter course. Examples:

•    Doubled the production ability with improved customer satisfaction.
•    Streamlined labor efficiency saving the company a minimum of $500 per job.
•    Hired new installers and subcontractors who are expert in their fields.
•    Opened up additional trades for huge “Additional Work Order” contracts.
•    Conducts regular Safety Training and product installation classes.
•    Handles all Customer Concerns and Dispute Resolution (Or there are none).
•    Brings in the final payments quicker then expected.
•    First person at work and often times last to leave!

I am not sure if Raul would have been this good on his own or if we owe it to CCN. The very first thing Raul did after joining our company was to attend CCN Blue Collar Boot Camp. The second thing he did was to fine tune our installers so that they became very efficient and quality oriented. Then he organized the shop, cut out the waste, started bringing in more money and then he got a raise! And then he got another raise!

The biggest problem we have is that Raul gets the jobs done so quickly that we don’t have much of a back log. His attitude is, “Hey the stress is on Sales not Production!”  Please vote for Raul Diaz as the Rookie Production Manager of the Year.

Marie Hoffman – Roofing & More

Marie is responsible for many things and excels at all of them. This is a new position for her as of 2010 and though we continue to add tasks and responsibilities to her plate, she continues to thrive and somehow gets everything done. We have raised the bar and want to be the best in Northern Virginia and so we do things that other companies don’t do. From scheduling to follow up and all the in between she is raved about by our clients. When there is a problem she is all over it and always resolves it quickly and though she wants to always please the customer, she also keeps the best interest of the company at hand. She has overcome, is open minded and a great team player.

Jake Mikos – Opal Enterprises
Jake has made the transition from a good carpenter to a personnel manager overseeing 5 crews and 20+ production workers.  He has dealt with massive growth in sales from both a residential and commercial standpoint with little assistance, and limited guidance.

Jake came on with Opal just about 1-year ago! When he joined us, he was passionate to learn the industry as fast as he could. Jake did learn fast! He made some learning mistakes, but never have we seen Jake make the same mistake twice. When he did make a mistake, he was sincere in his efforts to correct it. I believe Jake treats homeowners the way that he would want to be treated! I understand that Jake’s position demands multi-levels of detail; working with the homeowners, the vendors and the crews is a demanding job! Jake’s number #1 quality is his dependability! He comes to work early and works late most each and every day. He is humble to ask for needed time off. In one short year, Jake has experienced a zillion combinations of unique orders, situations and production expeditions! Jake is also EXTREMELY communicative with everyone in the company, customers included. Jake was eager to attend the CCN boot camp & came come to us with many ideas on how to better serve our clients!
