2010 Special Recognition Nominations

Bob Adams – Rain Gutter Specialties
Bob has worked for us for about 6 years and he has bounced around all over. He was our “fireman” in that he always put out fires for us. He did whatever was asked. The last two years, he was asked to be a full time salesman. He has done what it takes to improve every month. He has done what he needs to do and more. His closing ratio has increased as well as his sales. He is the guy we can count on for everything. When production is behind he puts his pouch on and goes to work. He does whatever is needed and we wouldn’t be where we are today without our Bob.

Patty Barnes – Istueta Roofing
We at Istueta Roofing believe Patty deserves a Special Recognition because in the time that she has been here she has been a great support to our staff. She always has a strong positive attitude which helps create a team environment. Any assignment given to her she follows through to completion. She has excellent communication skills, and is an organized coordinator with a very positive image. Her high standards and work ethics, discipline and commitment reflects our firm. Patty is the key ingredient to the company making a great first impression and getting the office work completed.

Drew Barto – Energy Swing Windows
Drew deserves this recognition because he has brought some truly special talents to Energy Swing. Since joining us as Director of Marketing a little more than a year ago, Drew has made significant contributions to expanding Energy Swing’s marketing efforts. Since marketing and leads are the lifeblood of any business, I feel that all the marketing progress he has brought in such a short period of time would make him a worthy recipient of such an award.

Drew has aggressively taken up the charge to bring more substance and direction to every aspect of Energy Swing’s marketing program. None of these have been more significant and impactful than the efforts he has made to expanding Energy Swing internet presence. Not only has Drew totally revamped Energy Swing’s web site to make it more content rich and user friendly, he keeps expanding its video content to provide that personal interaction that is so vitally important in moving up in the search engines.

Additionally, Drew has made positive impacts on the quality and effectiveness of our direct mail efforts.

While Drew’s specialty is marketing, he knows that to be successful he needs to understand every aspect of the business and how they all work together to provide the level of customer satisfaction needed to market and generate new leads for Energy Swing. He is also a real team player who constantly contributes ideas to help move the business forward.

Drew’s greatest asset is his willing to learn new things and increase her understanding so he can improve his effectiveness. He is a doer that does whatever needs to be done to move the business forward. The amount and quality of work he puts out on a daily basis is truly impressive.

Drew is the type of person we need to move Energy Swing to the next level. For that reason and all the things he does that will get us there, I feel that he is well deserving of the recognition that goes with this award.

Norm Bradley – Crown Roofing & Drainage
Norm Bradley: Norm is a project manager and my father. He has worked with me for over 7 years and has played an integral part in the progress and improvement of all facets of our production and operation. Norm is a mentor to many of our employees and crew members (including me). His years of experience and expertise have been a major benefit to Crown. It is a pleasure to work with Norm and he deserves to be recognized for his consistent contribution.

Betsy Laughton, Capizzi Home Improvements – Architectural Designer,
Betsy came to us about 1 year ago with 20 years experience as an architectural designer. During the time she has been with us she has learned Chief Architect, a software program where she can develop the most amazing 3-D colorful virtual tour plans that she delivers to our potential clients on our large screen.

That ability along with her design expertise delivered with her utmost professional and pleasing approach to customer service has substantially enhanced the design build remodel experience.

Betsy’s work ethic and willingness to be available to help us sell her designs and our jobs has resulted in a much more dramatic design service to meet our clients needs which has helped us acquire nearly 1,000,000.00 in remodel projects this year.

Sylvia Ligorria – Maggio Roofing
All I can say is that I truly wish there was an Administrative Assistant of the Year category. Silvia Ligorria has been with Maggio for four years and she is absolutely amazing. Silvia manages to not only complete her job tasks both efficiently and accurately, but she is also a good friend to all of us. Silvia’s job title should really be the “Assistant to Everyone” at Maggio. She is our liaison for Sales, Production, and Administration. She has the position in our company that is continuously interrupted by everyone all day- including our customers. With the loss of our Receptionist (and dear friend) to cancer in April, Silvia managed to help maintain a very busy and growing demand in our office, while being understaffed until September. And, she did this with not so much as an ounce of attitude, visible frustration, or hesitation. Silvia is a wonderful asset to our team and none of us could imagine where Maggio would be without her.

Chris Paine – Capizzi Home Improvement
As a project manager Chris exemplifies what we all want in a manager running our jobs especially the larger scale remodel projects that run deep into the 6 figures and require multiple trades that have to be worked with.

Chris’s calming demeanor and remodeling expertise shows through to every client he works with in short order. Well that showed true again recently during a conversation I had with a customer Chris is currently working with to build a 2nd story addition. Mr. White said how amazing it was to see how the crew prepared and pre-cut much of the framing needed in order to convert his 1 story ranch into a 2 story cape in just 3 days to get it weather tight before bad weather moved in.

We at Capizzi Home Improvement would like to recognize Chris for another year of outstanding service like he provided at the White residence and the many others.

Sam Merrifield – Lakeside Exteriors, Inc.,Advisor
“Special” is the perfect word for Sam Merrifield! He is the father of Lakeside Exteriors’ owners, Matt and Dan Merrifield. Sam is the most dedicated employee ever for Lakeside –not just because he doesn’t draw a paycheck but because he assists in every area of the business. Sam has been known to be photographing our beautifully remodeled homes one minute and then creating mailings the next minute. He then jumps into action working on financial statements or acting as advisor in a sales meeting. Sam also has been responsible for transferring our database from one program to a new one and continuing to enhance it. When something needs to be done, Sam is the first to jump in to either take over the job or to lend a helping hand. It is not unusual for him to be up at 2am working on a project. We don’t know where Lakeside Exteriors would be without Sam. At 78 years old, Sam has more energy than all of the employees put together! Retirement is jut not an option for Sam!
