John Martindale is co-owner of Certified Contractors Network, a professional development and training organization that supports its membership of residential remodeling companies to grow and improve their businesses.
He is also the CEO of Brothers Services Company, a Maryland-based full-service remodeler.
John has a unique perspective on growth formed by a 40-year journey that began as a young tradesman and led him to become one of his industry’s more well-respected and well-known business leaders. Over that time, his efforts transformed Brothers from a small roofing company into one of the largest and most successful full-service remodeling companies in the country. He is a frequent speaker who describes himself as grateful for the opportunity to share his many hard-earned lessons and insights with other entrepreneurs.
John has combined his passion for doing business with fairness and integrity, with a systems-based approach to business operations. In addition to earning his MBA from Loyola College, John is a recipient of the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award and has been named CEO of the Year by Smart CEO Magazine. Brothers has received numerous accolades, including the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. John is a dedicated family man, a private pilot, and an avid golfer. He splits his time between homes in Maryland and Florida.
Scott Siegal started as a roofing contractor in 1989, eventually installing all types of roofing from small residential projects to million-dollar commercial roofing projects to significant historic restoration projects featuring slate and copper restoration.
Scott has also been a professional contractor trainer for the last thirteen years. He has spoken at many local chapters and national trade Conventions. Scott is a former Director of the NRCA where he served as Chair for the Steep Roofing Committee of the NRCA, which is responsible for codes and specifications affecting the residential market and was President of the Washington Area Roofing Contractors Association.
For thirty years, while in the roofing business, Scott acquired four long-term established roofing companies in the Washington DC area. Since the companies averaged 700-1,000 roofing-related contracts per year, Scott knows firsthand the problems and challenges that roofing contractors experience in their businesses.
For the last thirteen years, Scott has shared the insights he has learned about the roofing business for the benefit of other roofing contractors through seminars, live training, and internet-based training programs. His "Contractor Development Seminars" have been sponsored by major building material manufacturers distributors, and trade associations in every major market in the USA and Canada.
Scott is now President of CCN (Certified Contractors Network) and the owner of Maggio Roofing Company. Following a seminar, it is commonplace for contractors to request private consulting or request the opportunity to visit his businesses. Over the years, Scott found that most contractor challenges were very similar from contractor to contractor and market to market. Contractors share common sales problems, field production problems and general management problems. Scott found he could network with different contractors, reducing the consulting cost for the individual contractor, which is resulting in the growth of the CCN Network.
Craig Leary started in the Home Improvement and Remodeling space when he was 23. Having grown up in a family of Home Builder’s, it wasn’t a big shift away from the Family business. Most recently, Craig acquired a small interior remodeler and within three years increased revenue twelvefold to 6MM annually.
In addition to his work for some of the largest, most successful companies in the industry, Craig has been a consultant to the Home Improvement, Remodeling, and Solar industry for more than 14 years, including as a Consultant for Dave Yoho and Associates.
Earlier this year, Craig joined CCN as a consultant with a focus on overall growth and improvement. Thus far, he has focused on Sales and Marketing but will be working to expand and improve the Training group.
Today, CCN provides low cost, hands-on consulting and networking between non-competitive contractors. CCN has members in most States in the USA and Canadian Provinces. CCN offers an entire sales, production, and management system for the contractor, from the one-man shop to the one hundred men companies.
I have worked in Construction most of my life. As a kid, I answered the phone for my family’s 24-hour emergency contracting company based out of our home. At the University of Maryland, I earned a Batchelor of Science in Business/Accounting and was self-employed converting companies bookkeeping to computerized accounting systems. I joined Maggio Roofing in 2001 and became a member of CCN. In 2002 & 2004 I was voted the CCN’s Office Manager of the year. In 2006, won CCN Rookie Production Manager and in 2010 CCN Production Manager of the year. I am now General Manager of Maggio Roofing and Certified Contractors Network.
